Jack P. Cannata, CFP®, CPA
Jack is the principal at the financial planning firm J. P. Cannata & Associates, which specializes in planning for successful entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees in the areas of estate, business succession, retirement, investment, and tax planning. Experience, education, and integrity are a few of the characteristics that set Jack apart from others in the financial services industry. With more than 20 years of experience, he has consistently demonstrated the unique ability to devise creative solutions to clients' complex financial concerns.
Jack is a noted authority on financial planning and tax issues; he is a frequent speaker and noted author on these topics having taught at DePaul University, Rosary College (Dominican University), and at various industry forums, including the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He coauthored a chapter in Illinois Estate Administration (IICLE 2009).
A Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Jack holds a Master of Accountancy degree with a concentration in taxation and a BS in finance and accountancy from Southern Illinois University. Jack also holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Personal Financial Specialist, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. Jack is also an Enrolled Agent and is authorized to represent clients before any office of the IRS regarding any matters. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the Financial Planning Association.
Jack lives in Roselle, Illinois, with his wife of 25 years, Lisa. Together, they have three children: Nicole, Joshua, and Lindsey. Outside the office, Jack is an avid fly angler, a private pilot with more than 1,000 hours in his Piper Challenger. He is also actively involved with the Columbian Club of Chicago and its Charitable Foundation.
Lindsey A. Cannata, CFP®
Lindsey joined J.P. Cannata & Associates after receiving her BA degree in finance from Augustana College.
Lindsey is responsible for the analysis and implementation of financial plans, as well as assisting clients in achieving long-term financial objectives. She has earned the highest-level professional designation in financial services as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. She also holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations (through Commonwealth Financial Network®) and is a licensed insurance agent. Lindsey is currently enrolled in DePaul University’s Master of Science in Wealth Management program.
Prior to joining J.P. Cannata & Associates, Lindsey interned at the Davenport, Iowa, office of Waddell & Reed and advanced to division administrative assistant, where she assisted three financial planners and the division managing principal.
When she is not working, Lindsey enjoys playing tennis, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends.
