Jack P. Cannata, CFP®, CPA

Principal

Jack is the principal at the financial planning firm J. P. Cannata & Associates, which specializes in planning for successful entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees in the areas of estate, business succession, retirement, investment, and tax planning. Experience, education, and integrity are a few of the characteristics that set Jack apart from others in the financial services industry. With more than 20 years of experience, he has consistently demonstrated the unique ability to devise creative solutions to clients' complex financial concerns.

Jack is a noted authority on financial planning and tax issues; he is a frequent speaker and noted author on these topics having taught at DePaul University, Rosary College (Dominican University), and at various industry forums, including the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He coauthored a chapter in Illinois Estate Administration (IICLE 2009).

A Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Jack holds a Master of Accountancy degree with a concentration in taxation and a BS in finance and accountancy from Southern Illinois University. Jack also holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Personal Financial Specialist, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. Jack is also an Enrolled Agent and is authorized to represent clients before any office of the IRS regarding any matters. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the Financial Planning Association.

Jack lives in Roselle, Illinois, with his wife of 25 years, Lisa. Together, they have three children: Nicole, Joshua, and Lindsey. Outside the office, Jack is an avid fly angler, a private pilot with more than 1,000 hours in his Piper Challenger. He is also actively involved with the Columbian Club of Chicago and its Charitable Foundation.

Lindsey A. Cannata, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Lindsey’s interest in financial planning took root while attending Augustana College and interning at the Waddell & Reed office in Davenport, Iowa. Upon graduating, she joined her father in the family firm as a financial advisor. One of the best parts of working with family is an aligned set of values. At J.P. Cannata and Associates, she strives to find the best solutions for her clients. When assisting clients to achieve their long-term financial objectives, she takes into consideration the analytical and the emotional components of each decision. It is of utmost importance that all clients receive superb customer service, common sense recommendations, and the knowledge to make the best decisions for their family. With that in mind, we ensure each client receives personal advice and regular communication.

In order to best serve her clients, Lindsey continues to pursue advanced designations and degrees. She has earned one of the highest-level professional designation in financial services as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.  In addition, she has obtained a Master of Science degree in wealth management from DePaul University, holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®, and is a licensed life and health insurance agent.

We believe our community is better when we are personally involved. Lindsey gives back through involvement in a number of charitable groups including 100 Women Who Care benefiting local charities and through local women business groups. Lindsey is particularly passionate about assisting women in transition, be it retirement, divorce, or loss of a spouse. She hosts monthly workshops for women contemplating or in the process of divorce.

Recently married to her husband, Zach, they have a rambunctious yellow Labrador retriever named, Maverick. Lindsey enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking Maverick through her neighborhood streets of Itasca, and doing DIY projects around her house.
